Sunny Thursday

Good Morning every one. Today the sun is shining, I am sat at my computer with a cup of tea and hot buttered toast. The dog's are outside and I have peace, perfect peace. I am so lucky.

Yesterday I continued my training course for a new company, same job, community carer but with much more opportunity to progress further. Yes, I know it is time I should be thinking about slowing down, but romance is not on the horizon for this old chic; I may as well give in to ambition.

So many of us believe that being a community care giver is nothing more than wiping bottoms. How wrong you are. We all grow old, and many of us will have lots of inspirational stories to recite, just like my lovely elderly people do. I enjoy every minute of my time that I share with the elderly. They were once someone's mother, wife/husband and respected neighbour. Take a little time in your life to enrich an elderly person's life. It could quite possibly be you that is all the richer for the time you offered.

Now that the rain has dried up, I intend to make the most of the sunshine by taking my two lovely greyhounds for a walk. Greyhounds are all too often over looked as pets. They don't need as much exercise as you would think, and the love they give back in return is ten fold. The next time you think about owning a dog, give the greyhound rescue centre in your area a call. You wont be disappointed. The added bonus, because of their short coats they don't cast or smell as bad as other breeds.

Well until next time, enjoy your day.

Much love,

Net.

Tuesday 25th October 2011

Good morning my friends, I looked out of the curtains this morning across the stunning County Down landscape where I live, and was so pleased to see the sun shining. Yesterday's horrific weather has disappeared to let the sun shine through the clouds. Happy day's are here again, but for how long?

I am getting very excited at the prospect of receiving and reviewing my author copies of both of my books. My memoirs especially seems to have taken it's toll on this old girl recently. But I am proud to say that I can finally put some of my past to rest. Thank you to everyone who has enquired about purchasing the books, and especially to those of you who have placed forward orders of signed copies. I hope to have them delivered to you all before Christmas. This publishing lark certainly takes time lol.

Thank you for all of you who voted to keep me in the Romance Is Not Dead competition with Mills & Boon, sadly I didn't make the top 10. But with a consistent score of 68% over the judging period, I am encouraged to try again next year.

My writing journey has taken a turn this month, I have found myself writing much more poetry. It is probably the little devil in me, as they are mostly Halloween poems. When and If I finally get to grips with writing and maintaining my blog, I will share some of my poems with you on blogger.

Well until I write again, "I will love you and leave you", as the old Lancashire saying goes.

Take care,

Net

The Dawn of Realisation

Monday 23rd October 2011

What a dreadful weekend we have had on the beautiful Emerald Isle. The severe weather that had been predicted several days ago decided to show up with a vengeance. Gales, lashing rain and flash floods everywhere. Now I am not one to complain about the weather, as we are usually treated to a mild climate here, but flash floods when my car is a tiny fiat seicento, with about three inches to spare from the road, negotiating the floods was a little scary to say the least. I should have carried a paddle with me!!!

Never a lover of Monday's, preferring to reach Friday, I have suddenly been reminded by Createspace that I must review and approve my self published books once they arrive. Thank you Createspace, realisation has dawned, I am an almost published author!!

"Grandpa Miller," tells the story of a crofter in his twilight years, who comes face to face dramatically with his past. The story is set along the beautiful and sometimes treacherous banks of Lough Cuan in Northern Ireland. When a brutal storm attacks the Island, the devastation will prove to test the Islanders friendship and loyalty to the very limit. Will they ever be able to put the past behind them? It is time for Grandpa Miller to defeat his demons and come face to face with his responsibility's.

"A Lancashire Lass, Born To Be A Thorn," is the true story of my life growing up as a main child care giver to an extremely ill and debilitated mother. My story is not full of romantic notions, but it is based on fact and how I felt in those years. I am indeed no heroine and have a great deal to regret, and also to be thankful for. My mother was a brave, determined woman with strong morals, she was a lady of great courage, and I am now proud to be her daughter. Writing my story has taken me on a journey to hell and back, and I have to say, I am a far better person now than I was then.

Please keep checking this site for news of both of the books coming available from Amazon. If anyone would like a signed copy, please order via myself here or from my website www.lancashirelasssliterature@yolasite.com

Keep safe my friends until the next time. x

Dear Friends

To all my friends on Hub Pages and Novelty Fiction, I am very saddened to be suspended from Novelty Fiction, and I just want to say that I have appreciated all your kind words and comments, and especially your encouragement to prompt me to keep writing. I will do.
