Good Morning every one. Today the sun is shining, I am sat at my computer with a cup of tea and hot buttered toast. The dog's are outside and I have peace, perfect peace. I am so lucky.
Yesterday I continued my training course for a new company, same job, community carer but with much more opportunity to progress further. Yes, I know it is time I should be thinking about slowing down, but romance is not on the horizon for this old chic; I may as well give in to ambition.
So many of us believe that being a community care giver is nothing more than wiping bottoms. How wrong you are. We all grow old, and many of us will have lots of inspirational stories to recite, just like my lovely elderly people do. I enjoy every minute of my time that I share with the elderly. They were once someone's mother, wife/husband and respected neighbour. Take a little time in your life to enrich an elderly person's life. It could quite possibly be you that is all the richer for the time you offered.
Now that the rain has dried up, I intend to make the most of the sunshine by taking my two lovely greyhounds for a walk. Greyhounds are all too often over looked as pets. They don't need as much exercise as you would think, and the love they give back in return is ten fold. The next time you think about owning a dog, give the greyhound rescue centre in your area a call. You wont be disappointed. The added bonus, because of their short coats they don't cast or smell as bad as other breeds.
Well until next time, enjoy your day.
Much love,
Net.
Good morning again Irish!
ReplyDeleteI sent you an email a bit ago, and didn't realize you also had a weblog post to read, because I missed the "subscribe by email" button. However, I've located it, and put the situaton to rights! :)
Glad you had some sunny weather to enjoy with the greyhounds. :) You're right about them being remarkable pets. When you have chance, posting a few fotos of them here would be excellent. I'd love to see them!
I think it's marvellous what you do in caregiving. I worked a long time in medical field, as a tech of this, that, and the other thing, and I admit that my favorite patients were the older generation. Working with them was much like stepping into a story book. They're wonderful! Not to say I didn't run into some negative and grouchy ones, but thankfully, they were few and far between. The rest, oh my goodness, they wound their way around my heart to the point that I often wished I could simply take them home with me.
I noticed your comment about no romance on your horizons. Careful, careful Net ... when you least expect it, it often shows up. Just giving you a heads up since that's what friends do!
Now that I've subscribed by email, I won't be so late in getting to read your weblog. Keep going with it. You're doing great! I love reading about Irish mornings, with buttered toast and greyhounds!
Love and hugs from Texas!
